Turner Classic Movies

Turner Classic Movies. For those of you who knowwhat it is, bravo for you. For those of you who don't, it is a tv channel that constantly(almost) plays old classic movies, all the way back to when movies first started coming into production. It is a great lesson for actors, to learn classic and simply methods youo don't often see today, and for the other people it is a channel full of great movies coming up with quick, interesting story lines. The other great thing? You can watch three movies in a row withough getting restless. Why you ask? Well because themovis are often about an hour long, and are so fast paced, the time flies by. I oftn find myself up late with my dad watching these movies, just not being ablee to stop, especially when they are doing a series of movies from one of the great actors of the time such as Cary Cooper. In case you don't believe me, My father and I found our self at three in the morning on thanksgiving inthralled ina series of Cary Grant movies. I leave you with this, if you love old hollywood and the movies of that era, this is the channel to find them on. If you've never seen a movie old enough to even be black and white, then give it a shot, you just might suprise your self, I know I did!!!

It is about a 17 year old girl that plays the cello but comes froma  rock family witha  boyfriend in a rock band, but when a tragic accident happens to the family when driving to visit family, the same night as the daughters boyfriends concert in portland. Should she stay or show she go that is the question...lol. Any way all and all it starts off not that great, but by midway things start to really heat up. Pirates of the Caribbean: On Stranger Tides

I recently saw this movie in theaters. It was good, being the fourth one in the seies it was impessive that it still had a mostly strong storyline. The action level was medium high. I would recomend it for children 8 and over. I thought it was still just as funny as the others in the series and would go see it again. I thought it was definetly worth it to see it in theaters and it featered a spectactular soundtrack. All in all, it was funny, not boring, and it kept me entertained for the whole two hours plus. I strongly recomend, below is a link to fandango to find show times near you! thanks for reading!!!!!

THIS SUMMER

Summer is approaching us fast. For kids and teens its time off. It also means time off for them. IF your old enough use this oppurtunity to get a job, and if your not you can do the lemonade stands, babysitting, and chores so you get extra allowance. If you start to do little job now and start paying for little things you want(aka that amazing shirt you saw that you just had ot have) garentted way to get what you want is be able to buy it yourself or sawve your money to buy who knows that wii game you've been wanting and so on. If you buy it yourself you'll feel good, like you deserved it. Other thenj working you can also read. Now if reading isn't your thing I understand, but go to the library and give it a chance. just because you don't like books you have to read in school, doesnt\'t mean there are millions of books out there that you don't even know exist. It may take time but try out different genres or lengths. If you find a series you like, just one book then you can find so many more similiar to it by asking your teacher, friends, librarian, or a searching on the internet. I have friends that used to hate to read, but once they found what they liek to read, they are constantly in there free time. Other then reading and a job, summer is alos a great time to spend time with family or get into a new activity. Such as a musical instrument or dancing, gymnastics, soccer, etc.

The Historian

The Historian
written by Elizabeth Kostova. She uses events from her teens traveling around with her father into a great masterpiece of literature. She tells of the places she went to, the meals she ate, and of course the stories her father told her only when on the road about his years as a young scholar in colledge. Mixed with actual historical facts not only about her life but that of history in Europe itself. The stories her father tells are both cruel and crucial to here for she may be next in the line for the "unfortunate sucessor" that her fathers mentor passed onto him with a book and mysteries travels to istanbul. Though this book is exciting and enchanting it is often long winded and slow at times. Though if you are interested in history and like an occasional fictional burst of genius this is teh book for you . whether you are 17 or 71.
